Day 1 - 13 July, 2010

Dear Diary

The trip which has been prepared for the past two months becomes a reality. I think it is not as excited as I thought. The train left Hong Kong at three o'clock. It is the first time I took such a long ride on train.

I like the food and I spent most of time reading books or playing games with my brother.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

The novel is an interesting one. I like reading it. It is about a detective, Sherlock Holmes and his friend Dr. Watson. It also tells the story of Irene Adler, who is an entertainer. Sherlock likes and admires her.

In chapter 1, A Scandal in Bohemia, the story introduces the setting and the main characters. The scandal took place in Bohemia. Dr Watson introduced himself as a friend of Sherlock Holmes.

Letter to Editor

Dear Sandy,

I have read through your email message that you sent. I know that your parents are very strict and never let you go out. I would like to suggest some ways to help you.

First, parents will never do things bad to their children; maybe your parents want you to finish all your school work before you hang out with your friends. In this case, I think you should talk with your parents how you want to use your time. I think if you have a good plan, your parents will accept it.

Next, the main problem that your parents are afraid of is the trouble that you may make. I think you should let your parents know you are not a trouble maker. You may first avoid making trouble at home, and you may try to help them solve their trouble. For example, you can help them with their housework.

Finally, you should work hard to get good academic results. If you have good results to show to your parents, I think they will allow you to go out in the evenings. Try to be polite, especially to your parents. A polite manner facilitates communciation. I think you will be able to go out with your friends.

Hope my suggestions can help you and hope you have a good life

Yours
Wilson
